During my microteaching I was able to hook the learners or students at the beginning of the lesson and with the use of ICT I was able to keep them interacting with my lesson throughout. The use of ICT made learners stay on their toes meaning they needed to stay awake and follow the lesson for them to know what was happening and they were not aware of when I was going to call on them to answer or reply.
The fear of learners or students not interacting with the lesson as it was online was a challenge and this was addressed by having an ICT tool that needed learners or students to continuously interact with the slide show and answers were needed from them from time to time and this allowed for me to keep track of the learners or students and easy for me to call on learners or students to interact or get back to the lesson. Network was an issue at some point, and this was overcome by interacting with the learners or students while slides were being uploaded instead of waiting in silence.
Yes, my lesson was able to help learners learn about the SWOT analysis. Yes, the ICT tool that was used during my lesson was effective and appropriate as learners needed to follow and interact with the tool and this made it fun for learners to follow and learn as it was not just a PowerPoint where learners follow but they were able to answer and interact with the slide.
I learnt that there was more than one way to explain a lesson rather than presenting the PowerPoint to the learners online and read or explain it via an online platform. This has taught me that I need to look at more fun and interacting lesson or ways in delivering the lesson to learners via an online platform.
I was able to take what my peers and mentor has gave me and I was able to apply it in other parts of my life as I need to always be online, and this has helped me in finding effective ways in delivering my content. Knowing or identifying the parts that I lacked or need to improve in has helped me in always looking for ways to improve not only online but in face-to-face teaching as well, as this will be the biggest way of delivering content in my near future.

Well done on being able to use the feedback from your mentor and peers which is a great way in being a great teacher. Awesome reflection and planning of the online lesson.

Rondene, your reflection shows how well you kept the learners engaged online. Using ICT tools to make the lesson interactive was a smart move, especially for getting learners involved. I’m glad your SWOT analysis lesson went well and that you’re thinking of new ways to present material. It’s great to see you using feedback from your peers and mentor to improve your teaching. Keep up the good work!
